Season x IWD2020 Nikita Parris Posters
To celebrate International Women’s Day 2020, fashion and football magazine SEASON hosted a private event in Peckham for football fans to watch the SheBelieves Cup together. Their Digital Lead and founder of MANTRA Sport, Dawn Broadbent, created a collection of posters, using words from SEASON Zine’s interview with Nikita Parris (Issue 07), to be displayed at the event.
“This was a really fantastic project to be a part of. Initially, I’d pitched to Season the idea of their content finding a place outside of the publication, as the magazine’s imagery is always striking and full of personality. So when IWD2020 came around, and Season were looking to put on a celebratory event for female football fans, Felicia (founder and editor-in-chief) saw this as an opportunity to do so and we discussed what we could do. The powerful words / message Nikita imparts in Issue 07, together with the aesthetic style of my work, aligned beautifully together and so the project wrote and designed itself pretty quickly to be honest. Being given complete creative freedom is what made this project most fulfilling. Any designer appreciates feeling a sense of ownership when it comes to designing for teams / brands, and Season certainly put their trust in me and let me take the creative reigns with this project.”
